In this Pilates-based fitness program you will practice safe and effective standing and mat exercises that form the pillars of bone-healthy movement. The exercises are designed to increase endurance, improve posture and balance, increase strength and flexibility, and reduce your risk for falls. You will need: a sturdy chair, a mat, hand-held weights, ankle weights*, a resistance band, and pillows or towels to cushion your bones while on the mat. *It's best to have two sets of hand-held weights: a lighter set (1- to 2-pound -- soup cans work in a pinch), and a heavier set (3- to 8-pound). Ankle weights (1-2 pound) are optional. This is a 10-class series: Wednesdays 1:30 - 2:30pm; September 14 - November 16, 2022.
